Rocket is a 1500-employee, half-billion-dollar-a-year tech powerhouse—and something of a kept brand. The privately held software firm develops analytics, networks, data, storage and enterprise software—for and with IBM. And while their partnership has been pioneering, Rocket tapped Grove to help “evolve” it (without violating it). Before we could get into that, we had to show that we could support Rocket’s super-aggressive sales goals on a huge range of products. As they say, the race was on.

Grove worked to develop individual identities and campaigns to distinguish and promote each Rocket product brand—with the goal of ensuring they all work together to support Rocket’s master brand.
Working directly with engineers and technologists, Grove absorbed a huge amount of technical information and recast it in benefit-driven, incentive-rich lead-gen marketing programs. With the volume of campaigns reaching a very pleasant hum, our teams stuck to lead-gen fundamentals to produce work that drove numbers.
Tactics ranged from standard-fare email, social and display programs to gatefold “happy birthday” ads for IBM to direct mail as take-out food to truly grand event concepts developed with a network of global event partners.
