Founder. Father. Friend.
Will MacNally (1966 - 2021)
Dear Friends,
It’s my sad duty to tell you that we tragically and unexpectedly lost Will, our friend and founder, to a heart attack this past weekend.
Will founded Grove in 2003, taking a leap of faith with one client (who we’re proud to still work with today) and a simple desire to do good work with and for good people. He gave me the courage to join him shortly after, and together we began the journey of a lifetime to build an agency rooted in the principles of integrity, creativity, partnership, going above and beyond, and always doing the right thing.
At 6’5”, Will was a big guy who had a big influence on so many. He was trusted, respected, and beloved by many as a colleague, partner, advisor, mentor, and friend. To me, he was like a brother.
Relationships meant everything to Will, and he was extremely grateful for all of the people he was lucky enough to work with, and for, over the years — and the work he got to do every day.
Outside of work, Will was extremely generous and went out of his way to help others, donating countless hours to a number of causes including his church and the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence, MA.
Most of all, Will cherished and loved his family and his role as husband and dad. His office walls are papered with family photos, and a drawing that his daughter Haley did nearly a decade ago is carefully preserved on his whiteboard. The entire Grove family sends all of our love and support to Chris and the kids at this incredibly difficult time.
We’ll all miss Will terribly. His kindness, his wit, his dedication, and even his occasional stubbornness. We all now seek to come together and move forward, continuing to build on Will’s legacy in a way that would hopefully make him proud.
Thank you for everything, Will.
Your friend and partner,
Pete
